After nearly two decades, Kuwait has reopened its doors to Pakistani skilled workers, lifting a 19-year-long visa ban and marking a significant step in labor relations between the two countries.

According to a report by APP (Associated Press of Pakistan), the Gulf country has resumed issuing work, family, business, and tourist visas to Pakistani nationals.

The ban, originally imposed due to security concerns, also applied to citizens of Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan.

This development is a major relief for thousands of Pakistanis seeking employment abroad, especially in the Gulf region.

Every year, a large number of Pakistanis migrate to countries like Kuwait, UAE, and Saudi Arabia to support their families and contribute to the national economy through foreign remittances, a crucial pillar in stabilizing Pakistan’s foreign reserves.

Kuwait has announced job openings in various sectors, including positions like warehouse supervisors, coordinators, carpenters, assistant furniture workers, and drivers.

For warehouse supervisor roles, candidates must be over 35, possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree, be fluent in English, and have prior experience in logistics or retail warehouse operations.

Applicants with strong customer service skills will be preferred. The deadline for document submission is August 15, 2025.

This positive development is expected to boost employment opportunities and reinforce Pakistan-Kuwait bilateral ties in labor and trade sectors.
