Pakistan Champions outclassed Australia Champions with a 10-wicket win, thanks to a stunning six-wicket haul from Saeed Ajmal and unbeaten knocks by Sharjeel Khan and Sohaib Maqsood in the 14th match of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 at Grace Road.
Chasing a low target of 75, Pakistan’s opening pair chased down the total in just 11.4 overs without losing a wicket. Sharjeel led with 32 off 23 balls, smashing five boundaries, while Maqsood contributed a steady 28 from 26 balls with four fours.
Earlier, Pakistan’s stand-in captain Shoaib Malik elected to bowl first – a decision that paid off brilliantly. Ajmal wreaked havoc with the ball, finishing with remarkable figures of 6 for 16 in 3.5 overs as Australia were bundled out for 74 in 11.5 overs.

Australia’s batting collapsed early, losing openers Shaun Marsh and Chris Lynn within the first three overs for just 17 runs. Ben Dunk attempted to rebuild with a quick 26, adding a 37-run partnership with D’Arcy Short before falling to Ajmal.
Ajmal’s double strike in the sixth over further dented Australia’s innings. Imad Wasim also played a crucial role, taking 2 wickets for 11 runs, while pacers Sohail Tanvir and Sohail Khan picked up a wicket each.
The dominant win propelled Pakistan Champions to the top of the WCL 2025 standings with nine points from five matches. Australia Champions, despite the defeat, held third place with five points, while South Africa Champions slipped to second place.
Both Pakistan and Australia have already secured semi-final spots alongside South Africa.
