Since Thursday, several users on X have circulated a document titled “Catering Guidelines.” It falsely claims that the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, DC does not serve halal food.

The claim spread quickly after Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sons, Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan, were seen dining at during their visit to the US capital. Their trip included meetings with US lawmakers to campaign for their father’s release from prison.

Due to the viral nature of the claim and its potential impact, a fact-check was carried out. The Capitol Hill Club’s official website was reviewed. None of the available menus, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, or reception, contained any statement about not offering halal or Kosher food.

There is no official policy or document that supports the viral claim. The shared document has been confirmed as fake. According to the Dawn News report, the fact check was originally published by iVerify Pakistan, a project of CEJ-IBA and UNDP.
