Pakistan records highest ever remittances in FY24-25

Pakistan remittances FY2024-25

Pakistan has achieved a historic milestone by recording its highest ever remittances, reaching US$ 38.3 billion in the fiscal year 2024-25, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

This reflects a 27 percent  year-on-year increase, translating to US$ 8 billion more than the previous fiscal year’s US$ 30.3 billion.

In June 2025 alone, Pakistan received US$ 3.4 billion in remittances, marking a 6.25% increase compared to June 2024’s US$ 3.2 billion. However, on a month-on-month basis, there was a slight 8% dip from May 2025’s US$ 3.7 billion.

According to Topline Securities, the FY25 figures mark the highest annual remittance inflow in Pakistan’s history.

The bulk of these inflows came from the Middle East and Western countries, with Saudi Arabia contributing US$ 823 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates (US$ 717 million), the United Kingdom (US$ 538 million), and the European Union (US$ 442 million) in June alone.

This record-breaking remittance surge is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves, improve economic stability, and offer critical support to the country’s current account balance, which has been under pressure due to import costs and debt repayments.
