India reimposes ban on selected Pakistani YouTube, Social Media accounts

Pakistan social media

A day after lifting the ban, India reimposed the ban on selected Pakistani YouTube channels and social media accounts, keeping Indian users away from accessing popular Pakistani content.

After months of restrictions, India has reportedly reinstated the YouTube and Social Media accounts of renowned celebrities, including Ahad Raza Mir, Mawra Hocane, Yumna Zaidi, and Danish Taimoor. Their YouTube videos and social media profiles are visible to Indian audiences.

The move is seen as a positive cultural step amid tense bilateral ties and years of digital censorship of cross-border entertainment.

However, prominent stars including Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Wahaj Ali, Iqra Aziz, Farhan Saeed, and Hania Aamir still have their accounts blocked or inaccessible to Indian users.

There has been no official statement yet from Indian authorities explaining the criteria for selective unblocking, though reports suggest that it may be part of a broader shift in media and digital content policy.
