mobile application for passport

In a major step towards digital public service, Pakistan is set to launch a mobile application to apply for passport from comfort of their homes, confirmed by Director General of Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi in Islamabad.

Qazi shared that citizens will soon be able to apply for passports from home, without visiting passport offices across Pakistan. The upcoming app is part of a broader plan to modernize services and make the process faster and more accessible for the public.

He credited the improvement in passport ranking to the efforts of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Interior Secretary, highlighting their role in introducing modern security features and e-passport facilities.

“E-gates will also be made available at all major airports soon,” Qazi stated.

The DG further revealed that online passport services are already functional for overseas Pakistanis. The Passport Asan Fee app allows fee payments within seconds, and soon, the new mobile app will let applicants complete the entire passport process from home.

He noted that there are currently zero delays in passport delivery, and applicants are being served efficiently under improved digital systems. “We are fully committed to making passport services smarter and more convenient,” Qazi said. The DG assured that with continued support from the Ministry of Interior, the drive to digitize passport issuance and further improve global ranking will continue.
