The involvement of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in the Pro League is now dependent on resolving financial issues.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has officially invited the PHF to participate in the Pro League, with a deadline for their initial response set for June 27.
In order to compete in the Pro League, the federation must secure over 500 million PKR (50 crore rupees).
If the PHF accepts the invitation but fails to follow through with participation, they may face significant fines and the possibility of a ban.
At a press conference held with the Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board, PHF Secretary General Rana Mujahid stated, “If we accept the Pro League invitation but then do not participate, the International Hockey Federation will impose a ban.”
Rana Mujahid further noted, “We are currently being supported by private sponsors. If the Prime Minister offers assistance, we can move forward. We will ensure that our decisions comply with the guidelines established by the government and the Sports Board.”
