Slovenia digital nomad visa will officially launch on November 21, 2025, offering remote workers a one-year residence permit to live in the country while working for foreign employers or clients.
This marks Slovenia’s first structured visa program for international digital professionals.
Eligibility
The visa is open to non-EU/EEA nationals who are employed abroad, freelance for international clients, or run remote businesses that don’t operate within Slovenia.
However, applicants are strictly barred from working with Slovenian companies or earning income locally.
Permit Duration
The visa allows a 12-month stay but is not immediately renewable. Applicants can reapply six months after their previous visa ends.
Dependents such as spouses and children can join but cannot work in Slovenia unless they qualify independently.
Requirements
To apply, individuals must prove financial self-sufficiency with contracts, bank statements, or salary slips. Applications can be submitted at Slovenian embassies or from within the country, where a temporary certificate is issued during processing.

Holders of this visa are not permitted to work for Slovenian companies, operate a business within Slovenia, or earn any income from Slovenian sources.
