Karachi to experience cloudy weather, light drizzle

Karachi weather

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cloudy weather and light drizzle in Karachi, offering a welcome break from the recent hot spell.

As per the weather forecast, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 35°C, while humidity levels remain high at 80%, making the weather feel muggy despite the rain.

Winds blowing from the west at 16 km/h are slightly cooling the city. Citizens in areas like Nazimabad, Bahadurabad, Malir, and Shahrah-e-Faisal reported light rain on Saturday night, which improved the overall weather and brought relief from the heat.

According to the PMD’s pre-monsoon advisory, moist currents from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea are entering Pakistan, indicating the onset of monsoon season. In Karachi, this means a few more cloudy and humid days with chances of scattered drizzle through the weekend.

The 3-day forecast for Karachi includes mostly cloudy skies, humid conditions, and light rain or drizzle in isolated areas. Temperatures are likely to remain between 33°C and 35°C, with nighttime lows around 29°C. Morning humidity may rise above 70%, causing some discomfort during peak hours.

The Met Office also warned of possible strong winds and rain in upper Sindh districts, but Karachi is expected to remain calm with mild rain events and no major storms at this stage.

The light showers and cloud cover have been a pleasant change for Karachi residents, many of whom had been experiencing hot and sunny days with little relief.

The PMD advises residents to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during the day, and keep an eye on official weather updates, especially as the monsoon season begins.
