The German Embassy has launched a new online visa portal to simplify and speed up the application process for Pakistani citizens seeking employment opportunities in Germany.
The Consular Services Portal, accessible at digital.diplo.de/visa, allows applicants to fill out a digital questionnaire and upload documents before their in-person appointments, reducing delays and errors.
According to the embassy, this digital system will increase visa processing capacity and eliminate the need for long waiting lists, ensuring quicker response times and better service for applicants.
“This ensures applications are fully prepared before in-person appointments, speeding up processes at the embassy,” the embassy wrote on its official Facebook page.
Pakistani citizens applying for work visas will still need to attend appointments in person to confirm their identity, provide biometric data, and pay visa fees as per existing rules.
The updated system supports several employment visa categories, including the EU Blue Card, skilled labor, self-employment, Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte), and recognition of academic or professional qualifications. The embassy urged Pakistanis without appointments to begin applications through the portal, adding that more visa categories would soon transition to this system to further boost efficiency.
