Sindh Budget 2025-26: Rs21 billion allocated for mega projects in Karachi

Karachi Budget 2025-26

The Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah presented the budget 2025-26 in the assembly, allocating Rs21 billion for Karachi’s mega projects.

During his speech in the assembly, CM asserted that the funds are allocated to focus on improving Karachi’s roads, sewerage systems, and water supply networks.

These investments aim to solve long-standing infrastructure issues across the provincial capital.

CM Sindh stressed that transport modernization is also a top priority. The Sindh government plans to introduce 50 electric buses this year, with 100 more scheduled to hit roads by August 2025.

“Progress continues on Karachi’s Bus Rapid Transit projects. The BRT Yellow Line is near completion, while the Red Line has already crossed the 50 percent development milestone,” he said.

The CM stated that the AI-powered surveillance cameras will be installed under the Safe City Project to boost law enforcement capabilities and reduce crime across Karachi.

As per CM’s speech, key infrastructure projects include the construction of the Korangi Causeway Bridge and upgrades to Shahrah-e-Bhutto. These developments are included in the new Annual Development Program (ADP) for the upcoming fiscal year.

Sindh also plans to cover heritage restoration and beautification of commercial zones. The overall vision is to make Karachi smarter, safer, and better connected for its growing urban population.
