A heatwave like condition remains in effect for Karachi and parts of Sindh as temperatures continue to hover above seasonal norms, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported on May 23.
According to the latest PMD advisory, temperatures in Karachi are expected to range between 35–38 °C, remaining 1°C above normal until May 25.
Humidity will add to the discomfort, with morning levels between 69-75% and evening levels hovering around 50-60% in the next three days.
Winds are expected to blow from the west and southwest, offering slight relief during the day.
The PMD has urged residents — especially children, elderly people, and women — to take precautionary measures, such as:
- Avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours (12 PM – 4 PM)
- Drinking plenty of water
- Staying in shaded or cool areas
“Heat-related illnesses may increase. People should limit outdoor activity and remain hydrated,” the advisory stated.
The current spell of hot and humid weather is expected to continue through until Sunday, with slight variations in daily temperature.
