Renowned Pakistani director Nabeel Qureshi has sparked widespread excitement on social media after hinting at a possible film on the recent Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
The operation led by the Pakistan Air Force, which earned global attention for its success against an Indian airstrike, has turned Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed into a national hero.
Qureshi, known for films like Actor in Law and Load Wedding, recently responded to fans on the social media platform X, showing interest in portraying the story of Pakistan’s swift and effective air response to the Indian attack on May 6–7.
The operation saw Pakistan shoot down five Indian warplanes, including three French-made Rafale jets. The Air Force’s quick retaliation and Aurangzeb Ahmed’s calm yet bold media briefing won over the public.
Many praised his leadership, strategic clarity, and sense of humor, making him a trending figure and even calling him the “national crush of Pakistan.”

Speculation began when a fan suggested casting Fawad Khan as Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, noting their physical resemblance. Qureshi replied that it would be “an honor” to make such a film.
However, another user opposed Fawad Khan’s casting due to his past work in Bollywood, to which the director simply responded with a thumbs up emoji, sparking further debate.
Social media users have since been actively proposing other actors for the potential lead role, including names like Humayun Saeed, Bilal Abbas Khan, and Wahaj Ali.
While Nabeel Qureshi has not officially confirmed the film, his responses suggest a growing interest in turning the military success into a cinematic tribute.
As discussions continue, Pakistan awaits to see whether this bold military chapter will soon make its way to the big screen – and who will be chosen to play the man behind the mission.
