Pakistan postpone remaining eight matches of PSL X

Pakistan Super League 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the postponement of the remaining eight matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season X.

This decision comes in light of escalating tensions along the Line of Control (LOC), marked by an increase in drone incursions and the firing of surface-to-surface missiles from India.

The PCB made this decision following advice from Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who emphasized the need to prioritize national security and the sentiments of the Pakistani people in the face of what he described as reckless aggression from India. The Prime Minister highlighted the courageous efforts of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, who are actively defending the sovereignty of the nation.

In a statement, the PCB expressed its solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the security personnel who are protecting the country. The board acknowledged the contributions and support of its partners, franchises, participating players, broadcasters, sponsors, and organizers, who have worked diligently to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament thus far.

While recognizing cricket as a unifying force and a source of joy, the PCB stated that it is essential to take a respectful pause during such challenging times when the nation is facing significant opposition. The board also expressed its concern for the mental well-being of the participating players and acknowledged the sentiments of foreign players and their families, who are understandably anxious about their loved ones’ safety.

The PCB remains committed to the sport and looks forward to resuming the tournament when circumstances allow for a safe and secure environment for all involved.
