Police issue traffic plan ahead of million march in Karachi

Karachi traffic plan

In preparation for a million-march scheduled on May 4, 2025, the Karachi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic diversion plan to ensure public convenience and security.

The march, organized by various political parties, will begin after Zuhr prayers from MA Jinnah Road (Nawa-e-Waqt) to Tibet Center, in solidarity with Palestine and to protest Indian aggression.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police Traffic Karachi shared the plan, advising citizens to avoid the main rally route and follow designated alternatives.

Parking for Participants:

Vehicles will be parked near Bagh Jinnah, close to Numaish Chowrangi.

Participants from District Central, East, and West can join the march at MA Jinnah Road via Liaquatabad and Guru Mandir after parking their vehicles at Bagh-e-Jinnah.

Those from South Karachi and Korangi can use Shahrae Faisal and Shahrae Quaideen, reach Khudadad Colony Underpass, and then park at Bagh Jinnah.

Alternate Routes for General Public:

The general public heading towards Gurumandir will not be allowed to access it via Jamshed Road or Teen Hatti to Nawa-e-Waqt/Numaish. Instead, they can use Bahadur Yar Jang Road (Soldier Bazaar) from Gurumandir or take the Jail Chowrangi route from Jamshed Road.

From Shahrea Quaideen, access beyond Society Chowrangi towards Numaish will be restricted. Commuters can instead turn right onto Kashmir Road.

Traffic from Society Chowrangi will not be allowed to proceed towards PPP Chowrangi. They are advised to use Kashmir Road leading to Ayesha Aziz Chowrangi.

Vehicles travelling from Jail Chowrangi towards Jamshed Road will be diverted at Binori Signal to Soldier Bazaar or Business Recorder Road.

At Lasbela, buses, minibuses, and other heavy vehicles coming from Nazimabad and Teen Hatti will be barred from heading towards Gurumandir instead diverted to Nishtar Road. However, small vehicles will be permitted.

Traffic from MA Jinnah Road (Eidgah Chowk) will be diverted at the post office near Dilpasand Sweets towards Jubilee.

Heavy traffic restrictions:

Entry is banned from Liaquatabad No 10, Guru Mandir, and Shahrae Quaideen for all heavy vehicles.

The public is urged to cooperate with traffic police, use FM 88.6, or call 1915 for guidance and live updates.
