Sindh’s Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah announced that the provincial government will recruit 90,000 more teachers for the education department.
The minister revealed that 83,000 teachers have already been appointed, and offer letters are now being issued to candidates who passed the IBA test successfully.
During a meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sardar Ali Shah said the recruitment drive is part of broader reforms to improve Sindh’s education system.
He added that the hiring of new teachers has already helped raise teaching standards and performance in government schools throughout the province.
The Sindh government is also working on modernising educational infrastructure, aiming to upgrade school buildings and improve learning facilities for students across all districts.
Officials believe that increasing the number of teachers will directly address the shortage in rural and urban areas, boosting overall literacy rates in Sindh.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari praised the education department’s efforts and emphasized the importance of quality education for the future development of the province.
The meeting also reviewed plans for further investments in technology, training programs, and updated curricula to ensure students are ready for future challenges.
Education experts welcomed the announcement but stressed the need for transparent hiring practices and continuous teacher training to maintain quality standards.
