A Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced three people to seven years in prison for kidnapping and honey-trapping famous drama writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar.
Judge Arshad Javed announced the verdict, which stated that the convicted individuals – Amna Urooj, Mamnoon Haider, and Zeeshan – were found guilty, while the court acquitted the other suspects due to lack of evidence.
According to the FIR, the incident happened on July 15, 2024, Qamar received a call late at night from a woman claiming to be a fan who wanted to work with him on a drama. She introduced herself as Amna Urooj and invited him to meet in Lahore.
At around 4:40am, Qamar reached the location. As he entered the house, seven armed men barged in. They searched him and took his Rs 60,000 cash, iPhone 11, ATM card, and national ID card.

Later, they also withdrew over Rs 200,000 from one of his bank accounts. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs10 million, and threatened to kill him.
Qamar later held a press conference to reveal the ordeal. The FIR was registered at Sundar Police Station on July 21, 2024 under kidnapping and terrorism charges.
The court trial began in August with 11 accused, where as many as seventeen witnesses, including Qamar, his friend, police officers, and bank staff, testified during the proceedings.
