What We Do and Don’t Publish

We Don’t Publish

Our Journalistic Values
Times of Karachi adheres to internationally recognised principles of responsible journalism. All contributors are expected to understand and respect these standards.
Accuracy: Verify every fact independently before submission. Do not rely on a single source for any significant claim. Where facts are disputed, represent both positions fairly.
Source Attribution: All direct quotes must be attributed. Sources may remain confidential only with prior editorial approval and a clear justification of public interest.
Impartiality: News reporting must present all relevant perspectives. Opinion and analysis must be clearly labelled as such and separated from factual reporting.
Transparency: Disclose any conflict of interest — financial, personal, or political — before submitting. Our editors reserve the right to decline contributions where bias cannot be managed.
Harm Minimisation: Consider the impact of your reporting on individuals, communities, and vulnerable groups. Sensationalism and unnecessary identification of victims will be edited or refused.
Right of Reply: Any individual or organisation named critically in your article must be offered a fair opportunity to respond before publication. Document this attempt.
Corrections: If an error is found after publication, report it to our editorial team immediately. We publish corrections transparently and promptly.
Image Requirements for Contributors
All articles submitted to Times of Karachi must include a header image. Images that breach copyright will result in the article being returned for correction before publication.
Header Image Dimensions: 1200 wide x 675 high (pixels to be exact). This is mandatory for all articles.
Copyright Compliance: Do not source images from Google Image Search. Use royalty-free sources: Unsplash (unsplash.com), Pexels (pexels.com), or Pixabay (pixabay.com).
AI-Generated Images: AI-generated images are permitted for illustrative purposes. Must be disclosed with a caption noting the image was AI-generated.
Provide the source URL for every image included in your submission. Images without a verifiable source will be removed by our editors.
Privacy: Images featuring identifiable individuals require either the subject’s consent or a clear news/public interest justification.
Original Photography: Field photography taken by the contributor is encouraged. Include a caption, location, and date for all original images.
