Residents of Karachi are increasingly concerned as thieves target electric poles in residential areas, stealing valuable infrastructure.
In a single night, electric poles worth millions of rupees were reported stolen, leaving local residents concerned for their safety.
The thefts were particularly focused in the Malir Housing Scheme, where dozens of poles were taken, causing major disruptions in power supply.
This comes shortly after electric wires were also stolen in the area, escalating fears of rising thefts.
Local residents suspect a well-organized group is behind these crimes, with no significant efforts from authorities to apprehend those responsible.
In response, residents and allottees have announced plans to stage a protest on the National Highway, demanding action and greater security measures to address the escalating issue.
