Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, claimed that the government proposed a deal to party chairman Barrister Gohar, offering Imran Khan’s release in exchange for organizing a sit-in at Sangjani.
As per media reports, Aleema Khan while speaking outside an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore, criticized delays in the trial for the May 9 Jinnah House case, stating that proceedings were yet to begin despite the accused joining the investigation.
“We are not asking for bail; we want the trial to commence,” she emphasized.
Aleema accused the prosecution of lacking evidence, alleging that even police were unaware of PTI’s supposed involvement in the October 5 case.
She further claimed that the government panicked during the November 24 protests when public gatherings intensified.
“The government summoned Barrister Gohar and offered to release the PTI chairman if a sit-in was staged at Sangjani,” Aleema stated.

Earlier to this, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) issued arrest warrants for 96 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers, including the party’s founder, Imran Khan, in connection with a protest held at D-Chowk Islamabad last month.
Judge Tahir Abbas Supra issued the warrants following a request from Kohsar Police, who are handling the case.
Prominent individuals named in the warrants include Bushra Bibi, Barrister Gohar, Shoaib Shaheen, Ali Bukhari, and Aamir Mughal.
The list of accused also includes senior PTI members such as Omar Ayub, Sher Afzal Marwat, Khalid Khurshid, Faisal Javed, MNA Abdul Latif, and Fateh-ul-Mulk Ali Nasir.
