Over 12 Universities to establish campuses in Karachi soon: Fed Education Minister

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, announced that more than 12 prominent universities across Pakistan, will soon establish campuses in Karachi.

This news was shared at the inauguration ceremony of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) Karachi campus, held at the Mohatta Palace, Karachi.

Siddiqui praised the efforts of PIFD Vice Chancellor, Professor Hina Tayyab Khalil, and her team in successfully establishing PIFD’s campus in Karachi.

The new campus, set to open by February 2025, is a significant step towards enhancing specialized education in fashion and design for students in the metropolis.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities across Pakistan, Siddiqui noted, “Pakistan is on the right path toward development, and the launch of more educational institutions in Karachi reflects our dedication to fostering knowledge and learning.”

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, also present at the event, expressed optimism about Pakistan’s economic future, calling for collective efforts to strengthen the country.

Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Prof. Mukhtar Ahmed, extended his full support to PIFD and emphasized the importance of arts and fashion education for societal growth.
