Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab kickstarted a significant project aimed at beautifying and enhancing the renowned Shariah-e-Faisal in Karachi. The project, estimated to cost approximately 20 crore rupees, is expected to be completed within a year.
During his address, Mayor Murtaza Wahab acknowledged the previously deteriorated condition of Shariah-e-Faisal and the concerted efforts undertaken by the Pakistan People’s Party government to improve its drainage system. Thanks to these efforts, instances of water accumulation during heavy rainfall have significantly reduced.
Mayor Wahab highlighted that all political flags, including those of his own party, have been removed from Shariah-e-Faisal, emphasizing the need for a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment. He also vowed to take strict action against anyone involved in damaging or defacing the roads and public spaces.
Mayor Murtaza Wahab expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in cleaning 50 to 52 drains across the city. However, he expressed concern over the obstruction of drains by certain individuals and clarified that these drains do not lead to his or the chief minister’s residences.
While acknowledging the criticism faced during the ongoing carpeting work at KDA Chowrangi, Mayor Wahab assured that the project is progressing diligently and that the benefits will soon be visible to the public. He also addressed the issue of water theft and pledged to improve the water supply system in the city. Exploring desalination as a potential solution was also mentioned.

Mayor Wahab called upon citizens to cooperate in preserving the cleanliness and aesthetics of the area. He urged the public to appreciate the positive changes happening in the city and emphasized the need for recognition of improvement efforts.
In conclusion, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab assured the residents of Karachi that their longstanding issues are being addressed. He encouraged everyone to take pride in the revamped Shariah-e-Faisal, which will provide a better experience for both residents and visitors alike.
