According to the chief minister, a process that traditionally takes around 30 years could be completed in five years using advanced scientific methods.
He said the initiative would focus on improving indigenous livestock breeds and increasing their productivity, helping meet the growing demand for milk and meat.
Government and Farmers Order 222 Embryos
Murad Ali Shah said the Sindh government had placed an order for 132 embryos of the Red Sindhi and Guzera cattle breeds.
Private-sector farmers had also placed orders for another 90 embryos, bringing the total number of ordered embryos to 222.
The chief minister said the participation of private farmers reflected confidence in the project’s potential.
The initiative is expected to support livestock breeders and create further opportunities for farmers across Sindh, according to the provincial government.
Focus on Red Sindhi and Guzera Breeds
Provincial Minister for Livestock Muhammad Ali Malkani said the programme would help improve Sindh’s indigenous Red Sindhi and Guzera breeds through modern breeding methods.
He added that the technology could improve livestock productivity and increase the income of farmers associated with the sector.
The provincial government said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to modernise livestock breeding, promote scientific research and strengthen the agricultural economy.
The government expects improved livestock breeds and advanced breeding techniques to contribute to higher milk and meat production in Sindh.
