South Zone Police Karachi have arrested multiple suspects involved in the robbery of Rs 2 million and murder of Dr Akash which took place in Karachi.
The suspects were apprehended after a swift investigation by police along with the law enforcement agencies.

According to official statement from police, the incident occurred around 11:20 AM when complainant, Sanjay Kumar – relative of Dr Akash, left home in a car bearing registration CAF-585.
Approximately 15 minutes later, he picked Dr Akash and his father Sri Chand from their home and between 11:40 AM – 11:42 AM reached a private bank located in Clifton block 7.
The complainant withdrew Rs. 5 million in cash from his personal bank account. The amount was divided into two separate envelopes containing Rs. 3 million and Rs. 2 million, respectively.
The complainant kept one envelope, while the other was handed over to Dr. Akash who was sitting on the back seat of the car.

Around 12:15 PM the victims reached a private bank located at CA Avenue, Ferrer area, during which four armed suspects intercepted their vehicle.
One of the armed suspects opened fire at the security guard posted outside the private bank, but the guard miraculously escaped unharmed.
Another armed suspect smashed the vehicle’s door window with his pistol and opened fire at the driver, who also survived the attack.
Meanwhile, the third armed suspect opened the rear door of the vehicle, snatched the envelope containing Rs. 2 million from Dr. Akash, and then opened fire on him, leaving him critically injured.

Following the incident, Dr. Akash was rushed to a private hospital by his father and cousin for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A case has been registered under Sections 302, 397, 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) at Ferrer Police Station.
On the instructions of DIG South Asad Raza, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted under the supervision of SSP South Mahzoor Ali to investigate the case. The team comprised SSP Investigation South – Tauheed Rehman, South zone SHOs and other investigation officers.

During the investigation, the SIT obtained CCTV footage from the private bank, nearby areas, and the escape routes used by the culprits.
Through technical analysis of the footage and intelligence-based investigations, the suspects were successfully identified.
Police received information about a suspicious Suzuki Alto car in the jurisdiction of Defence Police Station. Acting immediately, police intercepted the vehicle and arrested three suspects identified as Suresh, Ram Chand and Aneel.
During the search, officers recovered an illegal pistol, mobile phones, and other evidence. A separate case under Section 23(i)(A) of the Sindh Arms Act was registered against the suspects.
Police also recovered the white Suzuki Alto car used by the suspects to flee after the robbery. The vehicle was found fitted with a fake registration plate bearing number BWL-711.
During initial interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in Dr. Akash’s murder. They disclosed that they had received information from an accomplice that Dr. Akash and his associate, Ram Chand, had withdrawn Rs. 5 million in cash from a private bank and were transporting the money to another bank for deposit. Based on this information, the suspects planned and executed the robbery.
Investigations further revealed that the arrested suspects are members of a criminal gang involved in multiple incidents of street crime and robbery across Karachi.
They are habitual offenders with previous criminal records and have been arrested in several cases in the past.
Further investigation is underway, and police are conducting raids at various locations to arrest other accomplices involved in the robbery.
During the investigation, police found that the arrested suspects have a long criminal history and are involved in several serious offences.

Suspect Suresh S/O Amar Chand is a habitual offender with multiple criminal cases registered against him, including cases under the Sindh Arms Act, robbery, attempted robbery, and possession of illegal weapons.
His previous cases include FIR No. 12/2022 under Section 23(i) of the Sindh Arms Act registered by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), FIR No. 102/2022 under Section 381-A PPC at PS Alfalah, FIR No. 12/2025 under Section 395 PPC at PS Sohrab Goth, FIR No. 12/2025 under Sections 392/337-H(ii) PPC at PS Gadap, and FIR No. 14/2025 under Section 25 of the Sindh Arms Act at PS Sohrab Goth.
Similarly, co-accused Ram Chand, son of Sohnu, is also a habitual criminal with a history of involvement in robbery, vehicle theft, illegal weapons, and narcotics-related offences.
His criminal record includes FIR No. 161/2020 under Section 381-A PPC at PS Gulshan-e-Iqbal, FIR Nos. 313/2020 and 371/2020 under Section 381-A PPC registered by the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC), FIR No. 478/2020 under Sections 399/402/34 PPC at PS Gadap, FIR No. 480/2020 under Section 23(i) of the Sindh Arms Act at PS Gadap, FIR No. 1120/2021 under Sections 186/34/324/353 PPC read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at PS Shah Latif Town, FIR No. 1123/2021 under Section 23(i) of the Sindh Arms Act at PS Shah Latif Town, FIR No. 226/2021 under Section 6/9-B of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) at PS Steel Town, FIR No. 470/2024 under Sections 147/148/506/504/337-A(i)/34 PPC at PS Shah Latif Town, and FIR No. 187/2025 under Section 381-A PPC at PS Landhi.
