SBP announce bank holiday on July 01

bank holiday on July 1

All banks across Pakistan will remain closed for public dealings on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, as per an official notification issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday.

According to the SBP, this closure applies to all banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks, which will suspend transactions with the public for one full working day.

The bank holiday is observed every year on July 1 for the purpose of completing internal closing of accounts related to the end of the financial year.

Although customers won’t be able to carry out transactions, the offices of banks and financial institutions will remain operational. Employees are required to attend work as per their routine.

The SBP clarified that this is a standard procedural holiday, and online/mobile banking platforms may still provide limited services such as balance inquiries or utility bill payments.

Customers have been advised to complete important financial matters ahead of the scheduled holiday. Normal banking activities will resume across the country on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
