Online lottery buyers are being warned to stay cautious as increasing cases of fraud have targeted the citizens of Karachi.
The FIA Cybercrime reportedly arrested four individuals involved in an online lottery scam in Karachi’s Ahsanabad area.
The arrested suspects – Fayyaz Raza, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Imran, and Zafar Rajput – are accused of defrauding millions of rupees from victims through mobile apps.
The suspects reportedly created digital banners using the logos of the Kuwaiti government and police to deceive foreigners into sending money.
The suspects contacted individuals through spoof calls, gaining access to their debit and credit card information, using passwords and codes, they transferred money from victims’ accounts, both locally and internationally.
