Traffic woes: Admin considers routing heavy traffic via Lyari Expressway

Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab on Monday constituted a committee to work out a plan for routing heavy traffic via Lyari Expressway. The measure is being considered to curb the clogging of passageways leading to Super Highway.

The committee will oversee the administrative affairs of routing heavy traffic via Lyari Expressway to its destination up to Mauripur.

A meeting of these officials with the administrator resulted in the conclusion that heavy traffic, trucks, trailers, and cargo vehicles ply on the roads for about 90 kilometres to get to the Karachi Motorway and this can be easily avoided by routing them through Lyari Expressway.

It is expected that the flow of general traffic will smoothen if the heavy vehicles are detoured to take Lyari Expressway, Murtaza Wahab said during the meeting today.
