A Sindh minister has raised concern about a food catastrophe amid widespread flooding and severe rains since most of the nation’s crops have been totally devastated.
Ismail Rahu, the environment minister for Sindh, reportedly said that the province’s current flood condition is more hazardous than the 2010 superflood.
The majority of crops, including cotton, sugarcane, bananas, sesame, dates, rice, and others, have been destroyed due to persistent rains and flood conditions, and the Sindh minister has warned that there may be a shortage of food items in Sindh and Balochistan and that the country may experience a food crisis.
According to him, Sindh has never had such heavy rains and flooding, and the situation is becoming worse.
According to the provincial minister, Sindh’s cotton, sugarcane, banana, sesame, dates, rice, tomatoes, and other vegetable crops were all entirely devastated by the rains, which also cost billions of rupees in property damage.
