Sindh’s School Education and Literacy Department has released a schedule of the academic session 2020-21 which is to be followed by all private and government-run schools and colleges, including the Aga Khan University and Ziauddin University boards.
The Secondary School Certificate (part-I and II) Annual Examinations 2020 will be held from 15th June and the Higher Secondary School Certificate Annual Examinations 2020 will commence from 6th July.
As per the notice, students enrolled in classes 1 to 3 will be promoted to next classes after written exams based on the schools’ timetables. Students in grade four to eighth, will take annual exams on June 15 at their schools.
Admissions for classes 1 to 8 will begin by 1st June and are to be completed by 10th June so the academic year may begin from June only.
Students of the higher secondary will be admitted in class 11 in the month of June based on results obtained in class 9. These admissions will be provisional and will be revised after announcement of results of SSC-part II examinations.
The notice also included guidelines to ensure transparency of these examinations such as prohibition of ringing mobile phones, smart watches, tablets or other devices.
