Sindh food Authority bans sale of loose tea and low-quality ketchup

The Sindh Food Authority has banned sale of unpacked tea and ketchup in market. According to the notification released by the authority, sellers have been given three months period to look for other options instead of unpack tea.

The new provision has also banned sale of food item on printed papers, including newspapers.

The department has also prohibited selling meat items and other products without ‘halal’ certification.

For health purposes, the authority has also banned sale of food with Monosodium Glutamate or MSG in it.

Earlier this year, the Sindh Food Authority had sealed three restaurants over poor quality of food being sold.

A ketchup factory in Surjani town area was also sealed due to using carrot pulp instead of Tomato to produce ketchup.
