Sindh announces free treatment for Karachi building blast patients

Sindh health department has announced it will bear expenses of whatever medical treatment administered to those injured in Karachi building blast on Wednesday (Oct 21).

In its notification, issued in the wake of blast that left at least five people dead, while scores injured, the Department of Health has announced it will recompense the private hospital where the wounded were brought in.

The notification, addressed to a private hospital, has directed the hospital management to provide medical treatment to the people who suffered injuries in thr building blast, which, according to Bomb Disposable Squad investigations, is attributable to gas leakage in the building

Letter by Sindh health department on behalf of provincial health minister instructing private hospital to treat blast patients on govt expense

Department of Health Sindh has instructed the private hospital in the vicinity of the blast where the rescue teams took the injured, to administer medical treatment to the wounded patients on the government expense.

In its letter, the department said the health minister of the province has issued these directives and instructed the police surgeons to constitute teams of Medico-Legal Officers for preparing official certificates for those injured in the blast.

It is told to hospital management, in the letter by the department, that after the treatment is completed to those injured, the hospital may submit the bills to the government health department for payment processing.

It is pertinent to note that earlier on Wednesday a massive explosion had rattled Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area which resulted in the death of five people and injuries to more than a dozen.
