A significant development has occurred in the case of former President General Retired Pervez Musharraf’s appeal, as the Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for the appeal after a decade of its filing and five months after Musharraf’s passing.

In 2013, Pervez Musharraf filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the rejection of his nomination papers. However, the case had been pending for the past 10 years.

A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial, has been assigned to hear Musharraf’s application on July 20. This long-awaited hearing will address the appeal against the rejection of Musharraf’s nomination papers.

It is important to note that former President General Retired Pervez Musharraf passed away on February 5 this year while being abroad, after battling a prolonged illness.

The upcoming hearing holds significance as it marks a milestone in the legal proceedings surrounding Pervez Musharraf’s appeal, shedding light on the circumstances that led to the rejection of his nomination papers. The Supreme Court’s decision will provide further clarity on this matter and potentially have implications for similar cases in the future.
