Khurram Sher Zaman, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has formally requested permission from the Commissioner Karachi to hold a power show in the city, as outlined in a letter submitted today.
The letter, addressed to the Commissioner, highlights the recent gathering organized by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan in Jinnah Garden. Khurram Sher Zaman contends that, similar to other political parties, PTI should also be granted approval for conducting power shows in Karachi.
Notably, PTI has announced its intention to organize a rally stretching from Shahrah-e-Faisal to Shahrah-e-Quaid and culminating in Jinnah Garden. Khurram Sher Zaman emphasized the need for coordination with the administration and the provision of necessary security measures for the successful execution of the rally.
In the letter, Zaman asserted that the organization of rallies is essential for a free and fair election campaign, highlighting this as a fundamental democratic right. He also expressed a plea for cooperation from Commissioner Karachi and other relevant authorities in facilitating the event.
Falk Almas, the Secretary of Information for PTI Karachi, issued the letter, signifying the party’s formal request for the upcoming event. The PTI awaits an official response from the Commissioner’s office regarding the authorization of the proposed power show.
