Six personnel of Special Investigation Unit (SIU) have been arrested for looting and extorting citizens in Karachi. Officials call for extension in the probe to gather further data in the case.
The police informed that they are collecting the data against them from all the stations of the city, whereas some citizens who are the victims have started contacting police, who will be taken for their identification.
It is pertinent to mention that, earlier the police have recovered 65 tola gold from the arrested SIU personnel, which was hidden in a closet.
The accused had seized the gold in a raid on June 24 from the home of a burglar maid, who used to steal in the houses she worked.
According to the police, the accused were arrested by District East police. However, they did not inform the police about the raid.
