Demand for official vehicle number plates has increased due to the Sindh government’s crackdown on fancy number plates.
According to customs intelligence sources, the supply of lakhs of number plates of vehicles in Sindh and Punjab has been affected due to the incompetence of the contractor due to which the vehicles are facing a non-supply of computerized number plates.
On the other hand, due to not getting official number plates, the campaign has become a problem for the public.
People say that the official number plates of the vehicles are not available, so where can the vehicle owners get the number plates?
The federal government entrusted the contract of number plates to 2 private companies, after which the private company showed a shortage and increase in the price of the material for the number plates. A fine of crores of rupees was imposed.
According to NAB documents, the owner of the company then deposited more than 62 million in the plea bargain in the case.
