Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has confirmed that approximately 1,100 of its employees will be deployed for election duties on February 8. The training for these employees is scheduled to commence on January 1, 2024, at the Ghani Chowrangi Site Area and Kemari district in Karachi.
A three-hour training session, mandatory for the selected PIA staff assigned to election duties, will be conducted in both morning and evening shifts. This initiative is part of the preparations for the general elections in 2024.
The ongoing scrutiny of nomination papers filed by candidates will continue until December 30. Candidates have the option to submit appeals against the acceptance or rejection of their nomination papers until January 3. Decisions on these appeals are expected by January 10.
On January 11, the list of candidates will be displayed, and withdrawal options will be available until January 12. The allotment of electoral symbols is scheduled for January 13, leading up to the polling day on February 8. The engagement of PIA employees in election duties underscores the collaborative efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
