Nazimabad sees most rain in Karachi’s first monsoon spell of year

The first spell of monsoon rains in Karachi saw the maximum rainfall of 38 mm was in Nazimabad. On the other hand, 22 mm rainfall was recorded at Jinnah Terminal, 15 mm at Old Airport and 8 mm at Faisal Base.

Quaidabad 6, Jamiat-ur-Rasheed 4.3, University Road 5.8, Saadi Town 2.7 and Surjani Town 1.7 mm of rain was recorded.

The lowest rainfall so far was recorded at Masroor Base and Orangi Town at 2 mm.

According to the Meteorological Department, winds were blowing at a speed of 84 kmph in the city during the pre-monsoon winds.

According to Sardar Sarfraz, director of the Meteorological Department, the clouds are moving towards Thatta while some of the clouds are still present in the Arabian Sea.

According to the Director Meteorological Department, cloudy weather and light rain are also expected in Karachi today.

Sardar Sarfraz said that light to moderate rain spells of one to one and half hours could continue intermittently in Karachi.
