The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has decided to introduce a biker service in the city, starting with Islamabad and now expanding to Karachi. This service aims to provide convenience to the public by offering facilities such as national identity card renewal at their homes.
Under the NADRA Biker service, citizens will be able to avail themselves of the issuance and renewal process of national identity cards without visiting NADRA centers. The service involves NADRA staff visiting the applicant’s home to complete various stages, including fingerprint verification and capturing photographs, after which the national identity card will be printed and delivered to the applicant’s home by NADRA bikers. This service has already been successfully implemented in Islamabad.
Citizens opting for the NADRA Biker service will need to pay an additional fee of 1200 rupees compared to the normal ID card fee. The service staff will carry out the necessary steps, such as capturing thumbprints and photographs, during the ID card renewal process at the applicant’s home. This initiative aims to alleviate the inconvenience of waiting at NADRA offices, and female bike riders will also be available for this service in Karachi.
In addition to the biker service, NADRA has been providing facilities through Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs) dispatched to specific areas, where all stages of ID card issuance and renewal can be completed at one location for residents of that area. There is also a backpack facility available for elderly and physically challenged citizens, where a NADRA staff member visits their location with a biometric device, camera, and other necessary equipment to provide the required services.
This expansion of home-based services by NADRA aims to enhance convenience and accessibility for citizens seeking national identity card-related services.
