Ministry of Interior orders NADRA to cancel 12,500 fake Pakistani passports held by Afghans

The Ministry of Interior has issued a directive to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to invalidate the identity cards of 12,500 Afghans found in possession of fake Pakistani passports.

Recent discoveries of fake Pakistani passports among 12,000 Afghans in Saudi Arabia prompted the formation of a committee to investigate the matter.

According to sources from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), 5,500 identity cards were issued to Afghans from Quetta and Peshawar, while 593 Afghans received identity cards from Islamabad.

The Ministry of Interior has now taken decisive action, instructing the cancellation of identity cards for the 12,500 Afghans holding fake Pakistani passports. FIA sources indicate that the passports and identity cards of these individuals, discovered in Saudi Arabia, will be confiscated following the cancellation process. This move aims to address the issue of fraudulent documentation and maintain the integrity of identification processes.
