The Karachi Transformation Plan has achieved significant progress under the leadership of Karachi and the Pakistan Army. It encompasses various initiatives such as water rail drainage, waste management, and city transport plans.
The plan aims to enhance the living conditions of the citizens of Karachi by providing essential civic amenities. It is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2025.
As part of the plan, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) was assigned the responsibility of cleaning the Mehmoodabad, Gujjar, and Orangi drains. The cleaning of Gujjar and Orangi Nala is nearing completion, and these drains will be handed over to the civic bodies within a month.
