Karachi can’t bear monsoon more than 80mm

The statement came after his recent visit to Shahrah e Faisal, Karsaz, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad and many other of city area after an unexpected spell hit on Monday morning.

25 new de-watering pumps have been added in the city, increasing the strength of the previous de-watering pumps which have been installed at all underpasses by KMC, he added.

“KMC will use machinery and manpower of cantonment boards, the Pakistan Navy, and Pakistan Disaster Management Authority in time of need,” said Laeeq.

Moreover, the institution has established three teams to deal with the rain water, while 514 small and 38 big stormwaters are being cleaned.

It has issued notices to the cattle markets to take necessary measurements ahead of monsoon spells.
