Karachi braces for chilly winds as northwest systems enter Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a synopsis for Tuesday, indicating that two northwesterly systems entering the country via Balochistan are expected to bring chilly winds to Karachi. The ongoing cold snap in the port city has already witnessed the early morning temperature drop to 12.5 degrees Celsius on Monday, with the lowest temperature in Sindh recorded at 5 degrees Celsius in Mohenjo Darro.

As Karachi remains in the grip of a cold wave, the PMD’s Early Warning Centre forecasts the prevalence of strong winds in the city from Tuesday onwards. This is anticipated to further lower the temperature, intensifying the cold weather conditions. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to cope with the chilly winds and dropping temperatures in the coming days.
