Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab on Monday ordered the removal of all unnecessary monuments from People’s Square.
During a surprise visit to People’s Square Wahab reprimanded officials for charging an entry fee at the People’s Square.
MC Afzal Zaidi, Metropolitan Commissioner, Nazir Issani, Managing Director, Karachi Neighborhood Project and others were also present during the visit. During a briefing, it was revealed that more than 10,000 people visit People’s Square on Saturday and Sunday.
Wahab directed that the Sindh government’s standards should be maintained at the People’s Square and that weekly family days should be allocated there as well.
Later Wahab also visited Burns Garden and gave orders for it to be improved.
