Pathaan, a recent Indian blockbuster that is breaking box office records in Pakistan’s neighbour, is expected to be screened illegally in Karachi—and that too in the Defense Housing Authority, Dawn Images reported.
In response to Indian jets violating Pakistani airspace in February 2019, the association of film exhibitors decided not to screen any Indian movies. Despite four years having passed, no Indian movie has been formally released in Pakistan.
However, a brazen advertisement to sell tickets for Rs. 900 each for the movie—which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana—was boldly posted on at least two well-known Facebook pages.
Soon after, interested persons were asking about the film quality, venue, etc. Some people were also asking why a controversial Hindi film was being shown here, but they were all being directed to call on a phone number for further queries.
