The Ministry of Health has ordered the implementation of public health emergencies over monkeypox per WHO’s instructions.
Minister of Health Abdul Qadir Patel held a special meeting on monkeypox. In the meeting, it was emphasised that effective monitoring of the smallpox virus should be carried out.
The health minister issued instructions to all hospitals to take necessary measures for monkeypox.
So far, 16 thousand cases have been reported from 75 countries of the worldbut no case of monkeypox has been reported in Pakistan so far.
