Rockstar Games is reportedly gearing up for a Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) reveal, with a trailer expected to drop as early as this week, according to a report by Bloomberg. The trailer is anticipated to mark the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games and provide gamers with a glimpse of the highly anticipated game. The company confirmed active development on GTA 6 in February 2022.
Earlier reports indicated that GTA 6 would feature the series’ first female protagonist, drawing inspiration from Bonnie and Clyde, and would be set in a fictionalised version of Miami, similar to the location used in 2002’s GTA: Vice City. A significant leak last year included 90 videos of early GTA 6 footage, showcasing a female playable character engaging in a restaurant robbery. The leaked material prompted discussions about the game’s setting and potential features.
The announcement of GTA 6’s name and location is expected to come with additional details, possibly including a timeline for the game’s release. Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and remains a commercial success, having sold over 185 million copies since its initial launch in 2013. Despite being a decade old, GTA V continues to receive updates for its online component, GTA Online. GTA VI is highly anticipated to arrive in 2024, and the gaming community is eagerly awaiting further information on this latest installment in the iconic franchise.
