The government is set to make a crucial decision on the new prices of petroleum products today, taking into account the summary submitted by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
According to sources, the summary regarding the prices of petroleum products has not yet been sent by OGRA. Once received, OGRA will send its recommendation to the Prime Minister for approval.
Following the Prime Minister’s approval, the Ministry of Finance will announce the new prices by May 31. OGRA is expected to send the summary to the government later this evening.
Notably, there is a possibility of a significant reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country. The government may reduce the price of petrol by 17 rupees per liter from May 16.
