Karachi’s industries are set to face a challenging period as there will be a severe shortage of gas supply to the industry and captive power for a specified duration.
According to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), gas supply to all industries and private power plants will be suspended from Saturday at 8 am until Monday at 8 am. The SSGC has informed all industrial associations regarding this decision.
The closure of gas supply for a period of 48 hours, starting from June 3 at 8 am and ending on June 5 at 8 am, is due to a reduction in gas availability and the impact on line pack. The SSGC has also warned that violators may face disconnection for up to 7 days.
This temporary suspension of gas supply poses significant challenges for industries in Karachi, as they rely on gas for their operations and power generation. The closure is expected to impact production and overall business activities during this period.
The SSGC’s decision reflects the current gas supply constraints and the need to manage the available resources efficiently. Industries are advised to make necessary arrangements and consider alternative energy sources during the specified closure period.
