Food inflation in Karachi reaches a new high as flour prices rise

Following Lahore, the cost of flour increased by Rs20 per kg on Sunday in Karachi, which will increase living expenses even more.

In light of this, the price of a 10 kg bag of flour has been set at Rs. 1,300 rather than Rs. 1,100 per bag.

The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) confirmed the new increase and claimed that it was unavoidable given the skyrocketing price of flour.

Chakki atta was previously priced at Rs 130 per kg in Lahore and other significant Punjabi cities.

A record high in terms of price was also reached for simple and fine atta (flour), which is typically used to make roti and naan. The prices were Rs1,750 (per 15kg bag) and Rs9500 (per 80kg bag), respectively.
