Shahbaz Gill, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has yet another case filed against him for inciting the populace against a city institution: a first information report (FIR).
At the Brigade Police Station in the city, a resident named Muhammad Saeed filed a police report (FIR) against the PTI leader.
According to the FIR, a copy of which is available with Geo News, Gill accused the former chief of the army staff, General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, of ordering the stripping and torture of PTI Senator Azam Swati while he was being held captive.
The complainant claimed that he was using his phone when he viewed a Gill video that was widely distributed by electronic media and quickly became popular on social media.
"How is it possible that without [the former army chief’s] instructions […] Azam Swati was stripped naked and tortured,” the FIR quoted Gill as saying.
By using these words, the PTI leader incited the general public against the former army chief and other military officers, said the complainant. Gill tried to harm the respect and reputation of the former army chief, read the FIR.
